Ghosts of the Great Smoky Mountains

There has been a lot of history around the Great Smoky Mountains, and conflict has long been a key element among folks in these mountains. Early settlers clashing with the Indians, harsh wintery weather, and many Civil War battles resulting in death and heartbreak have provided a spawning ground for many ghosts or restless spirits. Ghosts seem to appear most often as spots of mayhem and tradgedy, as if the spirits were caught unaware and don't know how to move on to their next place.

These are accounts of folks of the Smoky Mountains who just won't seem to go away ... even after they've gone away.
